Deputy Director, Fraser Macdonald, Joins Young Scot Board

 

Data for Children Collaborative Deputy Director Fraser Macdonald has joined the Young Scot Board. Young Scot is Scotland's national youth information platform and citizenship charity, one of the most prominent in the country. Their goal is to support young people to thrive and make the most of their lives as they grow up. 

Fraser has an established relationship of support and collaboration with Young Scot, where he also serves as the Chair of Young Scot's Data Advisory Group. Made up of data experts from a wide range of industries, the group provides guidance and support to help Young Scot explore how it can leverage data to improve the lives of young people.

Fraser brings a wealth of experience and invaluable insights to his new role as a Board Member. 

Fraser worked with UK and international research communities throughout his career, designing and managing transformative projects spanning the public, private, and third sectors. Fraser's expertise in leveraging data to drive positive change aligns seamlessly with Young Scot's efforts.

Recognised for his advocacy for responsible use of data, Fraser was honoured with the 2023 DataIQ Data for Good Champion award.

 

In expressing his commitment to the role, Fraser stated:

"Data is a driving force in today's fast-paced world and joining the Young Scot Board provides a key opportunity to share insights and learning on the importance of utilising data responsibly to produce insights for real-world impact for young people in Scotland."
